There is Style in Your Shoes
I’m sure that you’ve heard the saying that is around every corner these days..”Walk a mile in her shoes.” I think that it truly gives a lot of respect towards women.
If you analyze it, some shoes that we wear are very difficult to walk in and we would trade comfort for style any day of the week! Walking in a women’s shoes is challenging. It interprets how great the tasks are that a woman takes, and the intricate steps taken to get there. It mimics the discomfort when trudging along in life fulfilling all our accomplishments. It also construes the different shoes we walk in for all the many hats we wear!
On the other foot, we can tell a lot about people from the shoes they wear. Take men, for instance. They wear durable and strong shoes that represent their tough nature. So, shoes and sneaks do hold a special purpose in their duties, decisions and intelligence, which is something to think about. Furthermore, if you want to blend the subject, comparing the different shoe types, I think it is safe to say that both women and men possess similar qualities. However, it may be somewhat difficult for women to wear men’s shoes and for men to wear women’s shoes. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes proves that, having men trying to walk the distance in heels. So, although women and men sometimes struggle to do each other’s jobs in life, it is quite possible for them to give it their best shot! With women stepping up and doing men’s job in this day and age, it is good to see they’ve got their backs!
Now that I’ve tip-toed around that subject, I think I’ll be moving on!
All throughout history, there has been so much controversy stirred up about women and men sharing jobs, duties, responsibilities and basically carrying the same weight as each other.
I believe God created women uniquely and gently in order for her to hold on to a certain amount of authority, yet in a very subtle and sweet way. Let me put it to you this way. A woman is a determined being and may also be loving and coherent to others in such a way that is totally becoming to a man and vice versa. Yes, we can do probably all things men can do (and sometimes better) with the intention of being equal. However, we were also made to act and carry ourselves in a more humble and modest way. It is simply the way it is..and I like being that way, don’t you?
“Walking a mile in her shoes” is a direct compliment to women. We do so much in our lives to care for and love our families and we always make sure everyone else is happy..and our shoes are shiny! We walk with “sole,” making each step worth our while, and caring for the men in our lives! Just think of how many miles we’ve walked in these shoes!
I often think of what it would be like to walk in someone else’s shoes, wondering what someone else’s life is like and the steps they made to get where they are, putting myself in their situation. It somehow makes me more humble.
I would love to hear back from you about your thoughts.
I will leave you with this..
Psalm 139:14New King James Version (NKJV)
“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.” (Sole!)
