There is Style in Your Shoes
I’m sure that you’ve heard the saying that is around every corner these days..”Walk a mile in her shoes.” I think that it truly means a lot of respect towards women.
If you analyze it, some shoes that we wear are very difficult to walk in and we trade comfort for style any day of the week! Walking in a women’s shoes is challenging. It interprets how great the tasks are that a woman takes and the intricate steps taken to get there. It mimics the discomfort when trudging along in life fulfilling all our accomplishments. It also construes the different shoes we walk in for all the many hats we wear!
On the other foot, look at the shoes that men wear..shiny in their own way, but totally unlike any that women wear. I’m not saying that men have less responsibilities or adhere to them less. All I’m saying is that men go about things differently than women, making them strong in their own right, but not as care-free yet determined. However, they do hold a special purpose in their duties, decisions and intelligence, which is something that we can truly be proud of! Now that I’ve tip-toed around that subject, I think I’ll be moving on! (yikes!)
All throughout history, there has been so much controversy stirred up about women and men sharing jobs, duties, responsibilities and basically carrying the same weight as each other.
I believe God created women uniquely and gently in order for her to hold on to a certain amount of authority, yet in a very subtle and sweet way. Let me put it to you this way. A woman is a determined being and may also be loving and coherent to others in such a way that is totally becoming to a man and vice versa. Yes, we can do probably all things men can do (and sometimes better) with the intention of being equal. However, we were also made to act and carry ourselves in a more humble and modest way. It is simply the way it is..and I like being that way, don’t you?
“Walking a mile in her shoes” is a direct compliment to women. We do so much in our lives to care for and love our families and we always make sure everyone else is happy..and our shoes are shiny! We walk with “sole,” making each step worth our while! Just think of how many miles we’ve walked in these shoes!
I often think of what it would be like to walk in someone else’s shoes, wondering what someone else’s life is like and the steps they made to get where they are, putting myself in their situation. It somehow makes me more humble.
I would love to hear back from you about your thoughts.
I will leave you with this..
Psalm 139:14New King James Version (NKJV)
“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.”
